INTRODUCTION

The Aleppo Shrine (AAONMS) Oriental Band is a uniformed unit, founded in 1951, of the Aleppo Shrine (AAONMS) which is located at 99 Fordham Road in Wilmington, Massachusetts 01887-0578 USA (a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts). Like the Middle Eastern beast of burden of the desert pictured above, the members of the Aleppo Shrine (AAONMS) Oriental Band tirelessly perform in traditional costumes at parades, concerts and various functions to raise funds to support the Band and the noble objectives of the Shrine.

We are a member of the National Association of Shrine Oriental Bands (ASOB) and the Northeast Shrine Oriental Band Association (NESOBA). We traditionally practice from the first Thursday evening in January to the third Thursday evening in November from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Aleppo Shrine premises in Wilmington, Massachusetts - the public is invited to drop by.

We currently have approximately 30 members ranging in age from the early 30's to the mid 80's. About 60% of our members regularly participate in our parades and a somewhat larger number usually participates in our other events and performances.
